| SESTRIERE FRIDAY OR SATURDAY DEPARTURES 9 DAYS/7 NIGHTS |
|
|
One
of the best bases in the 500 Km+ Milky Way and first built up in the 1930's
Sestriere lays claim to the title of being the first purpose built resort
in Europe. And the only purpose it was built for in skiing lying on north
west facing slopes at just over 2000m altitude with access to one of Europe's
largest skiing areas there are few resorts in Europe which can claim to
be in a better location for skiing and snowboarding. Beginners don't need
to explore the whole Milky Way; there are some great blue runs right in
Sestriere and it is a great place to learn to ski. Confident intermediates
can explore the whole Milky Way region and will love doing so. For experts
there are a multitude of challenges; the only caveat being that they can
seem quite spread out. Snowboarders will find a snow park and deep powder
runs aplenty. The village of Sestriere itself boasts of being purpose
built but it is a far cry from other resorts included in that category.
With an international atmosphere the resort is full of good restaurants
and bars. The apres ski scene is lively and offers something for everyone. |
