COURMAYEUR

FRIDAY OR SATURDAY DEPARTURES 9 DAYS/7 NIGHTS

Courmayeur is a legendary ski and climbing resort, rich in tradition and natural ambience. The resort sits on the Italian side of Mont Blanc, Western Europe's highest mountain. The French resort of Chamonix is just over the border and lift-linked to one of Courmayeur's ski areas by a succession of six cable cars. These in turn open up a number of wonderful off-piste routes on both sides of the border; and a small glacier summer skiing lift on the Colle del Gigante glacier. Heli-skiing is also popular here, the business buoyed up by skiers and snowboarders hopping over the border from France (where heli-skiing is illegal). Today, Courmayeur is one of the most important ski resorts in the world, that knows how to unite the spectacular slopes and the mountains, its rare charm of a magic place is exclusive. This marvellous resort is part of the area of Checrouit Val Veny, that with 100 Km of downhill slopes and 35 Km of cross-country tracks is able to satisfy even the most demanding skiers. Courmayeur, king of winter sport for more than half a century, offers to the ski and mountain lover the opportunity of skiing directly on the slopes of Monte Bianco (4810 mt), the highest summit in Europe.
